The spiritual path can become confusing sometimes.
This is something I have spoken of before, written of before. And yet, as I continue walking this path and opening my world again to more people, teachings, experiences, and perspectives, I find myself returning to this truth over and over again.
The nudge to speak to it has been strong lately.
So this morning, as I sat quietly in meditation, it became clear.
It is time once again to return to simplicity.
To remember. To breathe. To soften back into what truly matters.
I often lean into what I lovingly call the K.I.S.S. principle:
Keep it simple, sweetie.
Because when we begin awakening to a deeper way of seeing the world, there is suddenly so much to take in. It can feel as though you are trying to sip from a fire hose. Especially in the beginning, when the mind is trying to understand what the heart is only beginning to remember.
We want to consume everything.
We buy the books. We take the courses. We listen to every teacher. We chase every thread.
And honestly, there is something beautiful in that curiosity.
But there is also a point where seeking can quietly become noise.
What I have come to know through my own lived experience is that the deeper truth is rarely found through more information. It is found through stillness. Through presence. Through quieting the mind enough that the heart can finally be heard.
There was a period in my life where I lived in an almost unimaginable state of peace and oneness. No striving. No planning. No overthinking. Simply resting in divine connection each day.
And what I noticed then, and continue to notice now, is this:
The moment my mind begins grasping for more understanding, more certainty, more explanation, I begin drifting away from that peace.
Not because the mind is bad.
My beautiful mind is a gift. It loves to explore. It loves to understand. And there is wonder in discovering the vast mysteries of existence.
But I also believe the spiritual path can become a trap when we lose connection to our own inner knowing.
The rabbit holes are endless now.
A single search can pull you into an ocean of opinions, teachings, predictions, fears, and narratives. And without a strong foundation of mindful awareness, without knowing how to access your own divine wisdom, it becomes very easy to lose yourself.
Then suddenly you are chasing.
Chasing knowledge. Chasing awakening. Chasing healing. Chasing understanding. Chasing peace.
And in the chasing, you often lose the very thing you were searching for.
Peace does not arrive through striving. Peace arrives through surrender.
I know this because I have lived it. And I have witnessed it in so many others walking this path as well.
The more time I spend emptying out instead of filling up… The more I soften the noise of the mind… The more I stay devoted to simple daily practices…
The more connected I feel to God, to Source, to the quiet wisdom within my own heart.
And from that place, discernment becomes natural.
You begin to know what is yours to explore and what is not. You begin to trust yourself. You begin to feel when something expands you and when something pulls you into confusion.
And that matters.
Because we live in a world where so many people are constantly looking “out there” for answers. It feels easier sometimes to let someone else tell us what is true.
And while trusted teachers and guides can absolutely support us along the way, I believe that circle should remain small and intentional.
Find what genuinely resonates. Lean in when it feels aligned. Receive support when needed.
But remember that the deepest wisdom will always be found within your own being.
That sacred connection cannot be handed to you by another person.
It must be remembered.
Lately I have become even more aware of how important it is for me to stay grounded.
As a wife, a mother, a guide, and simply as a human being walking this earth, I have become deeply mindful of what I allow into my heart and mind.
The moment something begins creating confusion within me, I pause and ask my heart:
Is this truly for me?
And more often than not, I hear a quiet and loving no.
A gentle invitation back to center.
Back to simplicity. Back to presence. Back to truth.
Keep it simple, sweetie.
Because I know where peace lives for me.
Peace lives in simple practices done consistently. Peace lives in silence. Peace lives in prayer. Peace lives in nature. Peace lives in mindful presence. Peace lives in listening to the quiet wisdom of my own heart.
Not in endlessly trying to figure out the entire universe.
I have often joked that I would rather stare at a tree than scroll social media. And honestly, I was reminded why just yesterday after spending some time on Facebook.
In that time, I entered a portal of fear, opinions, noise, urgency, and distraction.
Interesting? Yes. Grounding? Not at all.
What I continue to remember is that this world reflects back to us constantly. And ultimately, we participate in shaping the reality we experience.
So I choose simplicity.
I choose presence.
I choose to stay close to my own heart and allow life to unfold naturally, gently, and in divine timing.
I release the need to strive to become someone or get somewhere.
Again and again, I return to ease. To grace. To trust.
And for me, that feels deeply true.
More than anything, especially as someone who once struggled deeply with fear of missing out, I wish for each of us to remember that what is highest and best for one soul may not be what is highest and best for another.
This path is deeply personal.
Yes, we walk beside one another for moments along the way. But ultimately, this is a sacred remembrance of the I AM Presence within.
And that remembrance can only truly be felt when the ego mind grows quiet, the heart opens, and the divine within is given space to speak clearly.
Keep it simple, sweetie.
A moment for you
Where in your life is your heart quietly asking, “Is this truly for me?” What would it feel like to honor that gentle answer, and to keep returning, again and again, to what is simple and true?
Much love, many blessings,
Treasure Marie 🌹
